Scrappy quilt and cushion from scraps

Isn't this gorgeous?

I am busy making another quilt, this one for my niece and it should fit a single size bed. Many blocks are sewn in the log cabin style and then sewn together until you get the desired size for the quilt.

There were a few of the log cabin style blocks that didn't really fit into the color combination in the quilt and so I decided to make a cushion cover with the left over blocks.  See below

I'm glad to report that it didn't take too long. And look how nice it came out.

Cushion cover with lace and beading

Going through my fabric stash, I came across this little square with flower pattern on. Embroidering with beads and sequins, and then adding the cotton lace strip around it and tada!, I have a new cushion for my bed and it goes nicely with my other linen of mostly light blues and white.

Watching tomatoes grow

Aren't these tiny tomatoes cute! It's amazing how much they grow. In little more than a week they have almost doubled in size! so cool!

dreaming of my Bernina Overlocker

And so the time has come for an overlocker and I'm taking the plunge. I've decided that I've been at this for long enough and it's time to get an overlocker.
Having decided on the perfect model - it's a Bernina Bernette 610D, it's now just a question of finalising the purchase and swipe, swipe, swipe!

This will be the perfect addition to my Bernina sewing machine, which i got last year. It is still going strong and such a joy to operate!

Since getting these 2 Bernina machines, I had endless hours of joy. Just look at these gorgeous things!

Since taking this photo, I've also acquired a sewing cabinet so now I can easily close it up when all the sewing has been done and don't have the unsightly view of threads and bits lying around.
